AI script breakdown that ends in a VFX bid.

Upload a screenplay and Sophie reads it into scenes and shots, flags the ones that need visual effects, and estimates each of them — disciplines, artist-days and a confidence — priced on your rate card down to a net bid you can edit and export. The first breakdown is free.

PDF, Final Draft, Fountain, Word, plain text or Markdown. No card needed.

What you get

From the first page to the last line of the bid.

Scenes and shots, every word kept

The import keeps the whole screenplay verbatim and only marks where each shot begins. Title pages and notes stay as text, never as instructions. Shots carry production codes from your project's pattern, so the bid, the tracker and the render names agree.

VFX flagged per shot, with the why

Each shot is marked as needing visual effects or not, with a note on what the work is. Only flagged shots are bid; everything else stays in the tree for context.

An estimate per VFX shot

Complexity, the disciplines involved — compositing, CG, asset build, FX and AI-assisted work — artist-days per discipline, and a confidence level with the reasoning behind it, written where you can read it.

Assets that need building

Characters, environments, vehicles, props, digital matte paintings, crowds and effects are listed once across the film. The ones that need a build carry their own days, so a hero asset is not bought again in every shot it appears in.

Priced on your rate card

Day rates per discipline, with presets for the UK, Europe, the USA and Canada in their own currencies. The confidence level scales each line, a discount sits on its own row, and every figure you see is the net.

Exported as a spreadsheet

An Excel workbook with live formulas — project information, breakdown summary, cost summary and your notes and assumptions — that the recipient can keep working in.

Second opinions

Several breakdowns, none of them "the" one.

A project holds as many breakdowns as you want to run. Each new pass is estimated by a different estimator under the same brief, and Sophie shows how far apart they land per shot — so you see where the estimates agree, where they diverge, and where your own judgement should settle the number.

Edit any line and it stays yours: a re-run re-estimates only the shots whose content changed and never writes over an edit. Omit a shot and it leaves every total but stays in the tree, so the next draft can bring it back.

To be clear

A VFX breakdown, not a scheduling breakdown.

If you need a breakdown sheet for scheduling — cast, extras, props, wardrobe and vehicles by scene — that is a different tool. Sophie's breakdown is the VFX producer's: which shots need visual effects, what work they take, and what they will cost. The scene and shot tree it builds, with every word of the script attached, is still a good place to start the other kind.

Free to start

The first organisation you create gets one free script import and one free VFX breakdown, with no card. A very long script may be parsed in part on the free run, and Sophie tells you how far it got; a run with credits covers the rest. Nothing else about the breakdown — editing, the rate card, the export, sharing — is ever metered. Pricing in full.

Scripts under NDA

Unreleased material is treated as unreleased material. We do not train our own models on your content, projects live inside your organisation, and a client you share a bid with sees that project as quoted and nothing else. The Privacy Policy names who processes what.

Questions about the breakdown

Which script formats can I upload?
PDF, Final Draft (.fdx), Fountain, Word (.docx), plain text and Markdown. A PDF with proper sluglines parses best; a script with no scene headings is still read, from where the story starts.
How accurate is an AI VFX estimate?
It is an estimate with a stated confidence and the reasoning next to it, made to be edited by someone who knows the show. Run a second pass to see where two estimators disagree. The producer decides; Sophie makes the first draft hours shorter.
Can I use my own day rates?
Yes. Each project has its own rate card per discipline, starting from a preset for its market — UK, Europe, USA or Canada — in that market's currency.
Will my client see my margin?
No. A bid margin is folded into the day rates and is never a line item. Someone you share the project with as a guest sees the breakdown as quoted.
Can I send the shots to our tracker?
Sophie can push scenes and shots to your own Autodesk Flow Production Tracking site with your own credential, once or again as the breakdown changes, without ever deleting anything there.
Is the breakdown really free?
The first import and the first breakdown are, with no card. Further breakdowns and recomputes run on prepaid credits, one credit per US dollar; images and video always do.

Have the breakdown before lunch.

Upload a script, get the scene and shot tree and a costed VFX breakdown, and decide about credits afterwards.
