AI pre-production for film and episodic
From script to storyboard and previz, in one AI tool.
Sophie reads your screenplay, settles it into a scene and shot tree, and takes it through VFX breakdown and cost, reference assets, storyboards and previz clips — with a person approving every step. Built for production and VFX teams working on material that is not public yet.
Free to start: your first script import and first VFX breakdown are on us. No card needed.
How it works
One script in. The whole prep out.
Every stage works from the same scene and shot tree, so a change to the script, a character or the look of the film shows up as "out of date" downstream instead of as a surprise.
-
01
Script → scenes and shots
Upload a screenplay as PDF, Final Draft, Fountain, Word or plain text. Sophie keeps every word and marks where each shot begins, so you get a scene and shot tree with production shot codes, not a summary.
-
02
VFX breakdown and cost
Each VFX shot gets its disciplines, artist-days and a confidence, priced on your rate card from gross to a net bid you can export to Excel. About the breakdown
-
03
Asset library and reference
Characters, props, vehicles, environments and effects are listed once, with reference images made to one Look, so everything drawn afterwards agrees on how things look.
-
04
Storyboards
A frame per shot, drawn from the shot's own lines and its references, scene by scene or for the whole film. Script to storyboard
-
05
Previz
A short clip that animates each frame, to judge movement, pacing and coverage before anyone builds anything. Storyboard and previz
-
06
You, at every step
Edit an estimate, omit a shot, swap a reference, keep a frame as it is. Your decisions are kept; a re-run never writes over them.
Who it is for
VFX producers and bidders
A defensible breakdown and bid in hours rather than days. Compare estimates, keep your edits, and export the spreadsheet your client expects.
Directors and supervisors
See the film before it is shot: boards and previz that follow the script and the characters you approved, not a prompt box.
Production and studio teams
One place for the script, the shots and everything made from them, shared with the people who need it and nobody else.
Your material stays yours.
01
Not training data
We do not train our own models on your content, and content is deleted when you delete it. Who processes what, and under which terms, is written down in the Privacy Policy.
02
Private by default
Projects live inside your organisation. Share one with a guest by email and they see that project, as quoted, and nothing else. There is no public gallery.
03
Nothing is final until you say so
Every estimate, frame and clip is reviewable and replaceable. When something upstream changes, Sophie says what it put out of date and asks what should become of it.
Fits the tools you already run.
- Scripts in the formats you have: PDF, Final Draft (.fdx), Fountain, Word, plain text and Markdown.
- Bids as spreadsheets: an Excel export with live formulas, so the recipient can keep working in it.
- Autodesk Flow Production Tracking: send your scenes and shots to your own site, with your own credential, and keep working there.
- Boards you already drew: upload a storyboard PDF and Sophie reads the panels into shots you can take straight to previz.
Questions people ask first
- Is Sophie free?
- Free to start. The first organisation you create gets one free script import (or storyboard ingest) and one free VFX breakdown. Image and video generation — reference assets, storyboard frames and previz clips — run on prepaid credits, one credit per US dollar, with no subscription and no seat fees. Pricing in full.
- Is this a full script breakdown sheet?
- Sophie's breakdown is a VFX breakdown: which shots need visual effects, which disciplines they take and what they cost. It is not a props-and-wardrobe breakdown for a first AD, although the scene and shot tree it builds is a good place to start one.
- Do I have to write prompts?
- No. The script is the prompt. Frames are drawn from each shot's own lines and the references you approved, under one Look you set for the project.
- Can I start from storyboards instead of a script?
- Yes. Upload a storyboard PDF and Sophie reads the panels into shots, ready for previz. You can also upload frames of your own into any shot.
- Does Sophie train on my script?
- No. We do not train our own models on your content. The AI providers that process it do so under our data terms, which the Privacy Policy lists.
- Who makes Sophie?
- HybridVFX, a service company that designs and builds AI pipelines for film and episodic production. Sophie is the part of that work that generalised into a product.
